Child friendly Halkidiki

 

The family friendly city of Halkidiki is dressed in shallow white sand beaches begging for sand castle builders to throw some buckets of sand around. There are numerous seaside resorts that are more in the vein of children's playgrounds complete with wildly colored water slides and mega sized swimming pools for even the big kids to enjoy. 

 

You can grab a family taxi complete with carseats for the kids and visit one of the many archaeological sites for the little Indiana Jones wannabes. Take the kidsto see the rare dwarf stalagmites at the Cave of Petralona or gawk at the Prosforiou Tower in Ouranoupoli. Summer holidays are full of locally flavored festivals such as the Festival of the Sea, or you can jump into a family taxi and head to one of the town festivals in the surrounding area for a taste of local life.

 

The tastiest one being the sardine and olive festival in Nea Moudania held in the second half of July.

It's easy to grab a family cab complete with kids'car seats or baby seat for a safe ride from the Thessaloniki

 

Get Airport transfer or taxi with car seat to your accommodation. Thessaloniki Airport is 13 km south of the town.
