Many of Prague's most important sites include tranquil playgrounds that are great for escaping the tourist crowds. Which is the most magical? The green courtyard nestled amid the castle's quiet brick alleyways in the Nov Svt neighborhood.

Take the 22 tram or a taxi with car seats to Brusnice and walk south until you notice a stone corridor labeled 'Dtské hit' (children's playground). The playground is closed for the winter, but this charming community is worth a visit at any time of year.

Parents seeking an exciting way to fatigue their children will like the Prague Zoo. This 140-acre zoological park has pony rides, a petting farm, and an Amazonian village-themed play area.

Prague Zoo is frequently named among the greatest zoos in the world for its diverse population — endangered Malayan tapirs and Asiatic lions are among the over 700 species here. The freshly renovated canteen serves whole wheat crêpes and grilled fish.

3. National Theatre

The gilded roof of Prague's National Theatre dominates the city's skyline. Culture enthusiasts of all ages should check out the theatre's program of family-friendly shows.

4. Karlovy Vary

Karlovy Vary (or Karlsbad) is a spa resort with various hot springs and one of Prague's most popular day outings.

The spa town itself is lovely, with brightly colored buildings and surrounded by woodland. Younger children will enjoy collecting keepsakes in the Karlovy Vary style by collecting a small bit of water from each mineral spring.

Karlovy Vary is a one-hour and forty-eight-minute drive from Prague. If you've booked a car or brought your own, this is ideal. You may also take the bus, which takes around 2.5 hours (not ideal for small children).
